Alison Bartlett (Royal Dornoch) stayed on course for an impressive double with two fine wins in the Scottish Ladies’ Matchplay Championship at Elgin.
Already the winner of the Strokeplay title, the Northern Counties golfer defeated Lesley Johnston (Gullane Ladies) by 3 and 2 in the first round of knock-out and then edged out West Vet May Hughes (Lanark) by 2 and 1.
In the semi-finals, Bartlett, a two-time Strokeplay Champion, meets Kathleen Sutherland. The Royal Montrose member beat West Vet Liz Keohone (Loudoun Gowf) by 4 and 2 in the quarter-finals.
In the bottom half of the draw, Fiona de Vries (St Rule) lines-up against West Vet Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie). - pictured left .Fiona De Vries needed an extra hole to end the challenge from Mary Smith (Tain) in the first round but then had a more comfortable 5 and 4 victory over Smith’s sister, Anne Ryan.
Alex Glennie, the 2011 Strokeplay Champion, defeated Linda Grieve (Musselburgh) by 3 and 1 in the first round and was then taken to the final green before squeezing out Anne Brownie by two holes.
West Vet Vice Captain Marion Stewart (Kilmacolm) takes on Margot Barr (Nairn) in the first semi-final of the Nett Match Play and SLGA Vice President Emma Wilson takes on Rita Dee (Kingsknowe)
